Our highly skilled orthodontics team is led by our principal dentist and specialist orthodontist, Dr Harneet Mangat (GDC 69327). Dr Mangat has over 20 years orthodontics experience and is well respected within the industry.
He has previously been the chairman of General Dental Council's (GDC) fitness to practice panel and chairman of the Orthodontic Specialist Group of the BOS (British Orthodontic Society). Dr Mangat has also been a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons Royal College of Surgeons of England since 1997.

NHS orthodontic treatment is free for patients under the age of 18 with a clear health need for treatment.
In order to assess the need and eligibility for NHS orthodontic treatment we use a rating system called Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN). NHS treatment is available for grade 4 and grade 5 cases. Grade 3 cases are usually judged on an individual basis. Treatment may also be available if the appearance of your teeth, jaw or face is of concern. Read more about IOTN here.
There are many different types of braces available, however the standard for NHS treatment is fixed metal braces.

If you do not fit the required criteria for free NHS treatment or you prefer a different style/type of brace, we offer a private orthodontic service to our patients. Private orthodontics provides a wide variety of options from clear ceramic braces to Invisalign removable aligners.
